Default can I ride 2 up?

I have a 2007 nightster. Do i need to do anythign with the springs for the rear in order to accomodate a second rider? I know it has enough power but the suspension doesnt have a lot of play with one person so i am curious how others have done it. Thanks

Heavy duty progressive 412 shocks or change the rear shocks spring pre-load setting to 5.
You never know what you can do

If you plan on riding with an adult passenger then you should definitely change the preload on the rear shocks.

this is a dumb question, but to put a seat on the nightster to allow for a passenger, do u have to drill holes or will it attach at same screw where the solo seat is?

There is another hole in your fender... farther back toward the rear tire. There may be a plug in it right now, or it may have an existing screw... Depending on how your dealership does their set-up. You have the option of adding a two person (one-piece) seat, or a passenger pillion. Either way, if you are going to be swapping out seats often... consider getting a larger threaded (twist-off) bolt.

Sure, my wife and ride two up all the time. Just get yourself a spanner wrench ($10 bucks at the dealer) and set the the rear suspension to it's tallest setting so the rear end doesn't bottom out over bumps.

After I bought my bike I took my wife on her first ride on a Harley Davidson on some twisties we have here close by. We get home, pull into the driveway, take off our helmets and I ask her how she liked it? She goes "Wow, we should have gotten one of these years ago!" (YES!)

You have to upgrade the shocks. I got nice Works shocks. The bike will be an inch or so higher off the ground and will need a new jiffy stand.

I think you need rear pegs too. If I recall the Nightster doesn't have them.
