Here in Virginia Beach insurance is crazy. There was something in the news about people crossing the boarder into NC and getting insurance because it is considerably less (almost half of Virginia Beach rates) just 10 miles away, of course its considered insurance fraud. Should have bought my house over there and gained the insurance savings.

Yeah us wealthy baby boomers are the reason bike insurance is so high,...maybe the accident rate is high because we are being run into by cagers turning in front of us, A$$ holes on cell phones, text messageners, croch rockets running from the cops because they were speeding, some involve animal collision (deer).Oh I forgot the 20 ish group that has to get wasted and get behind the wheel, there are us old bastards that drink and drive to.
Most of the bike accidents that are reported in my area are due to what I stated above, careless operators, speeding, following to close, ect, the same mistakes younger operators make, they don't break it down in the type of bike involved in the accident or death of the operator, and from what I have read its seems there are more of the 20 ish operators involved in death or accidents,on croch rockets.
I don't think its fair to blame the boomers for all the accidents or high insurance rates because we worked our A$$ off for 40 + years and want to spend some of that hard earned money on the things we couldn't afford, because we were educateing our kids, providing them roof over there head and 3 squares a day.
