I may be selling my V&H straight shot slip-ons after all. Had them on only a short time and just cannot get over how cool the new black shortshots look. I just purchased some on eBay last night. Looks like I'll have to invest in some other goodies to get the best performance.

Then you should have bought the Screamin' Eagle slip-ons. V&H specializes in harsh/loud. SE specializes in throaty and performance.
I'd agree with that statement forthe *stock* V&H verus SE's.I actually find the V&H straightshots with quiet baffles installed is less harsh than the SE's. At least, my ears hurt less when I get off the bike! Imust admit that the volume isprobably the same, but the sound is not so anti-social.

I stilltry to rumblegentlyout of my condominium and throttle back when passing a police officer ...out here in Singapore, it's a $ 500 spot fine for modified exhausts.

I have worked in Singapore for about two months. It was a fun country. I like my straightshots have not seen any drop in performance and the sound is great. I had SE11 on prior and had bad carb farts. I lost that with the remap and install of the V&H slip ons. In my opinion the slip ons with baffles in are the best bang for the buck.

Yes I'm looking just for sound right now, I would like to have more performance of course, but dropping over a grand on a stage one upgrade right now isn't in the budget. Thanks for the info, and I'll be ordering the slip-ons soon.

-Cheers

Quiet Baffles soften the harshness.

I like them.
