Default Local H.O.G. Chapters

How many people belong to a local chapter that is sponsered by a dealer other than the one you bought from?

I am not currently, but I plan on joining soon. Our local dealer attracts a lot of great people and I have met many from our local chapter.

I did. The local chapter I joined is actually closer to where I live. But I bought the bike at a dealer further away. I joined about 2 months ago and I have yet to receive anything from them. Shouldn't they at least send a letter, patch, or something? Oh well. They give me an extra 10% off of anything in their store, so it was worth the $15.

I belong to a local chapter sponsored by a dealer other than where I bought my bike. Both of them suck! The local chapter has the slogan "We Ride" I laugh everytime I see that. Hell, they spend more time coming up with reasons NOT to ride. what a joke.

As far as the dealer I bought my bike from, I'll never go back there again. They pissed me off, before I ever started my bike to ride it home.

I belong to National..not local, too far away right now..nearest dealer is 65+ miles north of us....was in local when I lived in Corning NY...let that expire...went to a few meetings and a few runs..it was ok...they were a good group there and I was friends with dealership owner...I was his second customer way back when .......bought my first NEW Harley from him..gonna go LIFE membership in national in another year or two....

I'm in the same boat, I have a dealer 5 minutes from my house but when I tried to buy from them, they wanted $1600 more for the same bike than the dealer I ended up buying from. However the chapter they sponsor is a lot more active and closer.
