solid mounts to rubber mount riders only
I love my 2000 1200-C but the one thing I never liked, is the vibs at 70 mph and up. The rest of the time, I dont have a problem with it. I have a bad right hand and the vibs give me trouble.
So Im going to sell it, and get a 05 or 06 rubber mount 1200-C.
I need straight forward answers. Just how much do the rubber mounts really help? How are they at idle? How about under acceleration? and the main thing, at higher cruising speeds... Thanks.
Gary.

Here is an article dealing with the 2004+ Sportsters that you might want to check out.
Besides the rubber mounted engine, the twin cradle, swingarm, and frame were also modified to strengthen the bike and improve the ride quality.

This is a repeat but to let you know, a year and a half ago I flew 1700 miles to buy my used 05 1200 C and ride it back to Tucson. Several of the days were 10 hour days riding at 70-80 mph. I never had a problem. In addition to that I did it on the factory seat that has never been a problem for me.Factor in that I'm 73 years old and it should be apparent that the new rubber mounts are pretty tame.

I have an 06 1200 c and vibes are heavy at idle. Once you get going it smooths out. There are smooth spots and high vib spots in every gear. In 5th between 70-75mph it is smooth as silk, anything over or under causes vibration. In 4th the sweet spot is 58-62mph. If you are not in the sweet spot the mirrors are useless. They are too close together also giving you a fuzzy view of your shoulders. I have herd the 883s have less vibes. It's not that bad but if traffic forces you to ride out of the sweet spots you will feel it. Under acceleration the thing vibrates. I would suggest renting one for a day and riding the **** out of it to get a better idea of what it is. I will never buy another bike without at least one full day on it.
