Question about Stage I...
I have a 2004 1200 custom that I just completed the Stage I upgrade on. I added V&H straight shot slip ons, Arlen Ness big sucker and rejetted the carb. I went from 180 to 185 on the main jet and 42 to 45 on the pilot jet. I adjusted the A/F screw out to about 3 complete turns but I am still having some problems with the carb farting for the first 5 to 10 mins. It usually only does it coming off of idle. Am I still running too lean?

RE: Question about Stage I...
Since it's only happening during the first 5-10 minutes, leave it alone and learn to live with it (ease in a bit more throttle before letting out the clutch). The downside of a carb. is that you can only tune it with the motor up to normal orerating temperature. If you try to compensate for the "cold farts" you will only make it run worse once it warms up.

RE: Question about Stage I...
I have a 2005 with the samesetup exactly. Yes it is a tad lean. Pull the enricher a bit to see if this cures it. You can always do that or you can richen up by 1/8 turn of AF screw, may take 1/4 turn.
You sometimes just have to experiment to get her just right.
