Default Tach on 2007 1200 Low

Anyone install a tach on a 2007 1200XL low? Was looking for options, all the ones on the harley website seem to be made for the Custom.

There is a cool factor about a tach, but after awhile your ear gives a good sense of engine speed and shifting point. I could never understand a tach in a car with an automatic transmission either...but we pay for them.

HD 07 catalog lists 2 that should work - the chrome mini speedo/tach and the standard sized speedo/tach combo that I had on my 03 883XLH. Possibly they were discontinued for 08. If so, your dealer should be able to find one for you.

Yea, I agree, I kinda want to be able to tell what the actual RPMs are though.

Part number for a tach/speedo kit that mounts above the handlebars is67182-07. It is black.

EDIT: I installed the 67182-04 kit on my 883R, and it looked awesome. It was also black. If you do it yourself it takes about 1-2 hours being careful not to wreck anything.

EDIT 2: They do have a chrome tach/speedo holder (no tach included) with a part number of 67294-95A, but for some reasons it says it does not work with a 1200 Low. You may want to question someone about that because chrome would probably look better on a Low due to it not having black handlebars. The first kit I reported comes with the tachometer and the holder, etc.

Bumpin an old thread.
Is the tach kit (67182-07) plug-in-play or do you have to do some wiring yourself? I'm not afraid to wire it, but I would just rather it be a plug in operation. Also, the catalog says that 67182-07 will only work with 883's yet it was stock on the 1200R. Is there any reason it would not work on my 1200 Low?
Thanks for all the help.

I've had Speedway Instruments Mini-tach on mine for three years now, and it's great. Except for when it's display is lit, no one even knows I have a tach. It works really well and wiring it in is super easy.

Do you even notice it?

I own a Black 2007 XL1200L Low and I installed the Black HD Speedo/Tach bracket to my bike and added the Tach to it as well. It was plug and play all the way. I hate that HD charges about $100.00 MORE for the Black Tach over the Chrome Tach. I hate to have the Chrome gauges reflecting the Sunlight into my eyes as I ride my bikes all over the place. I hate that the Gas caps are Chrome for the very same reasons. I just hate Chromos! (You know who you are!)

I am at work right now (12:19:00 am) and I am on my 2007 XL883 so the posted picture will have to do for now. I can take a picture of my 2007 XL1200L Low set up when I get home at about 2:00:00 am or so this morning if you need that set up too.
