Has anyone ever tried Meguire's Leather Careon their leather jacket? I was told that some of the cleaners used for autos can leave a glossy finish. Or is it worth just going thesaddle soap/mink oil route?

 

I jsut did my jacket with saddlesoap and then Lexol. This is the first time I have cleaned it in 8 years.

 

Saddle Soap is always safest.

Have you had the Lexol turn white when water hits it? I cleaned my leather saddle bags with it, and the first time I got caught in the rain, I had this milky looking stuff all over everywhere.

 

Yeah, WTF! I just put mine on the hanger and jam it in the closet.

 

Once, maybe twice, a year I use Neats Foot oil on my chaps. Helps to keep them from being too stiff to walk in. I don't clean my jacket or vest. Bugs and bird poop add character.
