Default V&H shortshots and quiet baffles

Anybody use this combanation? If so, how is the sound? Are they so loud that you would need earplugs?

Thanks for any feedback

The short shots with the stock baffle are real loud, The quiet baffles are still loud but not over bearing.

Will I need to get or should I get the V&N fuelpak? Plus, a high flow air cleaner? If so, regarding the air cleaner, what's a good brand and the possible cost.

I like the look of the shortshots but am afraid the noise will make it unpleasant to ride. Any comments or thoughts?

I have the short shot staggereds. Great Look!!, Great Sound (I have the std baffles). I have found them annoyingly loud after an hour or so with my 1/2 helmet, but only loud after cool weather convinced me to zip in the ear flaps. I am considering the quiet baffles also.

I've got short shots on my Dyna (without the quiet baffles) and they are loud but not annoyingly loud. I like em.

If you love how a Harley sounds, nothing is annoying lol.
I hope you neighbors agree [:-]

I don't rev it up uneccesarily and don't let it idle for long periods at the house. I sometimes go on midnight runs but I roll it out of the garage then start it, shut the garage door and I'm off. If the neighbors complain after all that then screw em.

My straight shot is pretty loud but I never heard anything from my neigbors, I do the same thing as you do, open the garage door and take off, never warm up my bike anymore, keep the rpm low.

If the neighbors complain after all that then screw em.
Exactly!

YepI gotta say I love the fuel injection. No more fiddling with my choke and carb farts, just get on, hit the start button and you're off looking for adventure and whatever comes your way...
