Default Cleaning tip.

I am sure plenty of people know this..but for those that don't. Ovencleaner rules for getting the baked on grime off. I personally like the cheap stuff found at most $1 stores.
On most surfaces (I don't recommend it painted body panels) like suspension, drivetrain components etc... spray and leave on overnight to remove most roadgrime. On engines spray on a warm engine and let sit for a few hours..
For stubborn spots, scrubbing with a stiff nylon brush will do the trick. Rinsewith water and marvel at the shine!

Sounds pretty iffy to me. I wouldn't use oven cleaner on or near any thing that's painted.

That's pretty caustic stuff. Even the frame is a painted surface. I think I will stick with Simple Green, works just fine and harms nothing.

This is a last ditch product for when all others fail. I use it for cleaning up surfaces prior to painting. It won't eat into powder coating or urethane based paint.

When it don't clean off, I don't worry about it. The bikes just gonna get mucked with bugs on the next ride as it is...

I use spray on permatex gasket remover on my cast wheels. This stuff is amazing. Spray it on,let it set about 10 minutes, spray it off with a hight pressure hose, (power washer). Removes all the grime and brake dustfrom the porus part of the wheel. Nothing I have tried comes close to this stuff.Wheels look as close to new as youcan get them. I have used it with the wheels on the bike and off.I have not had any trouble with it harming paint as I don't leave it onvery long but, READ THE LABEL, ITTHINK ITSAYS IT WILL HARM PAINT.I am very careful if the wheels are on the bike.
