Default Rear turn signals lights on ?

I noticed this morning that the rear turn signals lights are not on but the front ones are along with the headlight. Aren't they suppose to be on too ? They work as turn signals only ? Only light in the back is the brake light ?

If not always on, can they be made to be on like the front ones ?
Thank you in advance.

That is how they come from the factory. You can buy an adapter to make them stay on as running lights and work as brake lights, but that is an extra feature. Front signals always stay on as running lights.

anubisss has hit the nail on the head. The rear turn signal run/stop/turn-signalmodule from Harleyis like $46 and a GREAT investment for your safety. It gives you added running visibility at the rear and two extra brake lights to-boot. It is total plug-n-play. Simply remove the seat, unplug the wiring harness, plug in the module, tuck it down, and replace the seat - done! I did it early on when I got the bike, and feel better having the added rear illumination.

For older bikes (older than '04), I think I've seen them in J&P's, Dennis Kirk's, or someoneelse's catalog. Not saying Harley doesn't have them, they might, but I don't know the part number. Maybe surf their website.

Kuryakan (sp?) has them, one for 04 up and one for 03 earlier. They are about 5 bucks more than the HDmodule but the unit hasa jumper option that flashes the brake lights quickly 3 times when you first apply the brakes. It works great and like the HD just plugs inline.

I have one that makes the signals brake lights but not running lights and I have a 2002. So the answer is yes.
