Arm strain is the only redeming factor I have found in the weenie shield. But, that was the only reason I bought one. So, it works!! I'm sure it will also help in the cold, I didn't have it last winter, and so far, it's still in the freekin 90's here!! Will summer EVER end.
Got to pick on ya a lil Sporty......been 30 days since you posted this and yes Summer has ended and winter is trying to move in.....not too hard yet but def in the air

really like my clamp style q/d windscreen-
goes on in the 50 ish temps till snow accumilation and visaversa.
also as mentioned, great for long hauls. no tools necessary to pop 'er off when ya get to the destination.
i have not become dependant on it. (" once ya get one, you'll never ride with out it"). i like the wind and open feeling.... but if it extends my already short season.... i am all about it.

Temp swings in the high country (40 degree mornings, 90 degrees by 2 PM) make windshields a mighty attractive option. Negative style points I know, but I didn't buy the sporty for style, I bought it to ride...

I just got my detachable in yesterday and got it put on. Plan to get up and out and see how it is here in a short. Most posts
are pretty much pro on the windshield. But I agree with got my sporty to ride, and if the windshield makes for longer rides, then I'm all for it.

Does any one know the difference between how long it takes to remove a non-quick remove compared to a quick remove? I noticed there's big difference in price and style.

Mine came with the bike & I rode it home 1,200 miles. Took it off for one 200 milecruise and put it back on that night. Only take it off when riding in town. Wear a 1/2 lid and goggles with it, can't stand my full face because of the weight and wind noise (yes, it's a Fulmer).
Where is she riding? looks like the Lavina/Acton area.

Just east of BigTimber on the frontage road near I-90. Although, we do go to Acton for the drags in the summer. (I drag a '99 ZRX1100)

The quick release is off in 30 seconds. Just four pressure clamps to release - two on each fork. Couldn't be simpler.

Only problem I have with mine, is wind buffeting. While I'm only 5'8", I think that the Sundowner seat pushes me up too high and the wind catches my helmet, knocking my head around at high speeds. Anyone else suffer from this?

took mine out after i got it put on out in the country. I have a stock solo seat and it comes about
18 inches above the headlight. Which puts it about eye level, and at about 60 to 65 i didnt notice
any head movement at all. I wear a 3/4 with flip up visor. Not sure if that makes any diff.
