RE: Forward controls
If you cant find the controls, a cheaper option could be a seat, that moves him an inch or 2 forward? or you could send the original seat to mean city cycles or something I cant remeber the exact name, they're a sponsor on this forum and they have their own section on the main page. Ive heard good things about them. If its not a reach/size issue and hes new to riding and just dosent like the forwards I think he should keep using them, theyre loads more comfortable than mids are, (at least for me) once he gets used to them

RE: Forward controls
I'm 5'7" and could never go back to mids... I just tossed my mids out as well or else i'd have given em to ya for the cost of shipping.
Personally I think he'd get used to the forwards with time. I can imagine the top heavy nature of the sporty could make you feel like the foot controls are too far forward since this is a more laid back position. I felt the same way when I first installed my forwards but my knees were thankful anyhow.
