Will tank bib wreck my paint?

RE: Will tank bib wreck my paint?
I've had a tank bra on mine since it was new. I've actually replaced it once from stretching. I remove it for every wash/wax, about twice a month normally. I dont have any scratches in my tank yet in over 4 years. Now what I refer to as scratches might differ from someone else, but the HD bra I have protects it from scratches, however it does leave small, almost swirl like marks that go away completely with a little wax. My buddy was without his for a while and he ended up with actual scratches in his paint from a jacket zipper! My 2 cents.

If you live in a dusty area like I do, a gravel road, you will be sorry pretty damned quick.

If you decide to put one on, you might consider using something like:
It's a paint protection film, purchased at the auto part store.
I used it under my stock seat. It was tearing the crap out of my paint. I wanted to try to preserve the rear fender for a solo seat.
I just changed seats, took off the film after about 5000 miles. It looked OK after I washed the bike. The paint was already damaged slightly. I used "scratch out" before I put the film on.
Just a suggestion.

RE: Will tank bib wreck my paint?
I made the mistake of putting one on my bike. BIG mistake. I love the look of it, but now have a line that looks "faded" where the bra has rubbed on the finish. I'm going to have to have my daughter's husband rub it out for me. My advice is DON'T do it...
