I keep hearing about the various 'ground clearance' of various Sportster models, and how one model is much higher than another, so I thought I'd get the factory spec's.

Here is the ground clearance for each 2008 model, going from "lowest" to "highest".

883L - 3.9"
1200N - 3.9"
883C - 4.4"
1200L - 4.4"
1200C - 4.4"
1200R - 5.6"
883 - 5.6"

Kind of interesting, as the ground clearance of the 1200L is the same as the 1200C. Apparently they design the seat and other components to lower the rider, but the ground clearance isn't changed.

It's also interesting that the 1200R ground clearance is no higher than the Standard 883.
