Rear Tire Changing
I am curious as to why it is you cannot have a regular tire shop change the rear tire..meaning remove it from the rim and put on a new one.???? I have a solid alloy rim on my Sportster C....looks as if its an easy change for the machine but I've never done it so want to know if it works or damages rim??

RE: Rear Tire Changing
If you check around you can probably find an Indy shop to mount and balance your tire. It took me a while, but I found an excellent guy that did both my front and rear mounting and balancing for $30. That is cheaper thanmost automotive tire shops charge for mounting and balancing.
I removed the wheels, took them and the new tires to his shop. Twenty minutes later I was onmy way back home to re-install my wheels and new tires.

RE: Rear Tire Changing
You can get a Harbor Freight tire changer with the motorcycle attachment and do it yourself. Or do it with some Wal*Mart tire tools. I'll do a 16" wheel by myself with tire irons, but not an 18" (front). And I only do that if I'm financially challenged at the time, otherwise, I take the wheel off and bring it to a shop.
