Muffler Interconnect Gaskets

RE: Muffler Interconnect Gaskets
I've installed pipes on several Sportys. In some cases you can reuse them, and in some cases they are pretty much trashed. For the most part it doesn't matter how careful you are with them. The damage, if present, is usually done when the pipes you're removing were originally installed.

And it's too late -- I already done ordered me some clamps.
Thumper, what is the part number of the gaskets?
Thanks for the help everyone. I'll dig this thread out if my pipes don't come with the gaskets! [sm=smiley20.gif]

RE: Muffler Interconnect Gaskets
I went ahead and replaced mine. I found them at the local harley dealership - and they didn't cost that much. I figured I would rather take it apart once and replace, rather than finding out later that I should have replaced them to begin with.
It fits between the interconnect bracket and the muffler itself. (Unless I have my terminology wrong!)
If anything, make sure you DO replace your exhaust port gaskets!

RE: Muffler Interconnect Gaskets
Ah, the muffler interconnect gaskets do come with the Screamin' Eagle Street Performance slash outs. I received my mufflers today along with the gaskets. (Unfortunately, I forgot about this in the week or so it took to get the mufflers, and I ended up buying some at the local HD dealer a few days ago...oh well.)
