Exactly. When I e-mailed the guy (Mikey), I told him that he proved you don't need a $30,000 touring bike to do a trip like this. His bike was almost completely stock.

I've been spending most of what was left of the night going over that site, and from what he stated about the Sportster, and what kind of slippery "snot" he rode through, I don't think a tourer would have been appropriate!
