Default I want apes for my new sporty 1200

I picked up an 07 Custom 1200 this spring and am looking to put on some mid level ape bars. Any suggestions or pics of people who have done this? Any info would really be appreciated.

What's a 5liter beater? I'd get minis. You will hafta replace the cables.

I have a pic of 16"'s on my fatboy in the sig. My advice is to get the height that you might think you want off the bat because if you don't you'll be sorry and it's a lot of work to put em on. Taller is better IMO. You will ahve top replace the cables and it won't be cheap. That is a fact...

Never ridden with ape hangers. Seems like all the blood would run out of your arms.

I like mine, they're the 12" Fatty Aped Z's from J&P....the pull back is just right and if you stick with 12" you will only need a +4 clutch cable and a new brake line. Throttle/Idle on my 98 1200C were still a perfect fit.

I don't know if your '07 has the same 6-inch riser that my '04 does, but here's a photo of it with the 6-inch "apes". Don't think I'd want them any taller. Sure a lot better than those stock bars!

I have HD's 9" mini-apes on my 20071200 c (on the risers), and the hand-grips are now at the same height as the top of the mirrors on your stock bars (just sit on your bike with your hands on the mirrors to see what it'll feel like. Wider, though!). It's very comfortable, the best thing I've done to my bike, as I sit upright, instead of leaning down and forward. Sorry, I can't do pics. They look very cool, though! All the cables had to be changed, and the wires extended. Not cheap, but worth it.

It's a smaller bike and ape hangers make it look even smaller. JMOH
