Hello all,

Ive got a 1993 1200 sporty thats pissing me off. It has a new battery in it about a year old. has a new voltage reg , about a year old. I can crank on the bike andd get a spark to jump from the spark plug wire end over to the plug cap. It still wont pop . So I pulled the plug out and attached the spark plug wire to it and cranked on it , no spark across the gap on the plug. How does a person teast the ignition coil? Any ideas are welcome......

The bottom line is the bike cranks its *** off and wont fire for **** .[:@]

You hafta put the plug against the head or you won't see a spark. (You need a ground). Check the fuel system.

 

You need a multi-meter to check the coil. Do the oms test like in the maual. Should be about 3.15 oms if I'm not mistaken. Or 3.5 there about.
