Is there any 06 883 riders out thar that are using the Aux brake mod and some kind of aux forward lighting.

I need to pull these Harley Halogens off. 2 dealers are telling me that they are too much for the Sportsters 22 amp system ... although I find that hard to believe as a relay is supposed to be mounted when the install takes place .. anyway.... I was wondering if there was another solution.

The primary use of the lights is an cager attention getter .... 1200z dont count ....If Im not mistaken, they have a different electrical system.

I just installed the Aux light kit on my 04 custom and I used regular bulbs instead of halogen, I never asked the dealer if the halogens used more juice then the regular bulbs.

I have the Aux. lights on my 2006 883 and the brake light , turn signal conversion kit, no problems at all.

 

The 883 and 1200 both have 22 amp systems. To keep the current draw down I suggest using a pair of PIAA Superwhite bulbs in the aux lights. They are bright like halogen bulbs but draw less power. They are not cheap however, about $75 for a 2 pack and make sure they are "vibration rated".

 

I have the Aux Brake kit on my 06 883c no problems.
