2005 XL 1200 custom, I hate.....
I just purchased a 2005 XL 1200 custom and ABSOLUTLY Luv this motorcycle but hate the seat!!! It looks good but after an hour of riding I have to stop.
I am in the market for a replacement 2-up riding seat that offers comfort and style.I like the looks of the Le Pera Maverick & Daytona but don't know anything about these seats or any other seats for the 1200 custom. I saw the Sundowner seat in the Harley book and may consider it as well.
Any advice or help about ANY type of touring seat will help. I plan on keeping this motorcycle so price under $400 would be great. Thanks for your time!!

I got my Mustang Vintage seat set, brand new and shipped to my door, for $275 off of a place on e-bay. I have nothing but good things to say about it.I bought a real Bandlander (not the Badlander style that is on some Sportsters as the stock seat) and it was equally as terrible as the stock block.

I researched this forum and others regarding "best" seat issues. Mustang seemed to get the best reviews.
So I just bought a Mustang Vintage Solo for my '04 1200C. So far so good. It's not as soft as I was hoping, but it fits my ***, and sits me up a bit taller in the seat(I'm 6'4"). I was using the stock seat and an AirHawk Cushion, which wasn't too bad. I too, need a comfy 2up. I'm trying to find someone who has a Corbin Rumble Seat(has built=in passenger backrest)-but nobody seems to have one for their Sporty.
Good Luck anyway!
