Thumper - any chance of you posting a pic of the harness on the bike - I've been all over and under mine and can't locate one so I assume it's not there - will be going to dealer to get on - don't want to look like a donkey's behind

 

These chargers are very slow and very low in amps so it takes a while before anything registers

 

i have been riding and charging motorcycle and car batteries(collector cars and vettes) for 30 plus years. at times i have owned as many as 5 bikes at a time. never used a "battery tender" type charger, have had my sears combo motorcycle/car charger for 30 years. i generally charged each bike battery maybe 2 times a winter. sometimes just once and then a charge in march for the first ride. i got great battery life, generally 4+ years sometimes over 5 years. my friends all have "battery tenders" and always seem to have problems. i have treated my collector cars the same way, one or two "regular charges" and have had very long battery life. maybe i have been lucky. i have often come cloase to buying a battery tender, but always decide to keep doing what works for me.
