Progressive Insurance Jacked my rate

RE: Progressive Insurance Jacked my rate
I haven't had a claim, so I can't say how they would be in that case. And you really can't totally judge an insurance co, until you have a claim with them. But, for my bike I have Markel Insurance Co. They have very good rates, and allow you to document any customization you have done to the bike, and have it covered by the insurance. Most insurance companies will only cover the bike as it was when it was stock.

I wrecked my Sporty and at the time had about $3k invested into acc. for it. They not only replaced all of it, but the claims rep knew exactly what everything was on my bike, even the after market 3rd party stuff (Kury, etc...). Great experience and super fast getting the bike repaired. The only problems I faced were with the dealer (of course), but that isn't the insurance company's fault. But I do think that people underestimate how important claims service is. That is probably the reason Progressive is one of the most profitable insurance companies around.

Geico did that to me earlier this year, raised my rate based on moving to another state and home, I cant fiqure that out as I moved to a lesser populated area into a gated community,so I switched to Progressive...
Hummmm, might be rethinking that decesion if they do it to me here also

I just changed my auto insurance from Geico to Progressive...Progressive was significantly cheaper because theylook backat accidents over the past five years but only holdaccidents happened over past two years against your rates....
Anyways...whenI did the rate quote they pointed out rateswere based on good credit and could change based on your credit rating. This was all new to me since I never had an insurance company based a rate on credit..it must be something new over the past four years.

For those of you who are married......
If you trust your wife, which I hpe you all do, title the bike in their name, and insure it under their name, with you as a secondary driver. Our insurance is $250 a year, with maximum limist and no deductible. Plus we just got married, so next year it should go down.
Insurance company knows we are doing this, have done it for the past 2 years, did it on my old 2002 TL1000R and saved over 900 a year

I'm with ya there man about Progressive...but from a past experience, if GEICO was my only option for car/bike insurance. I'd sell all of the cages and the bike, and buy a few horses. I've never been screwed over more by a company than I was by GEICO.
It's a long story that has been posted here before. Given the sorry search ability on this forum, it's doubtful we could find it. And I really dont' feel like typing the whole deal again.
