Ok, I know some of you will say I am nuts for going to a dealer but that is what I did today. While I did not buy a bike (need liscense first), my wife and I did look at some. The salesman told us that HD cut their incoming inventory by over 23 pages and about the only way to get a bike like I wanted would be to put a $1,000 deposit down. He said that I would have first right of refusal. He said HD was cutting back on production and sending alot of the inventory over to Europe. Any one else heard of this? And NO they did get a deposit, I have not set my mind on a HD yet and am waiting till I graduate college next spring before I decide.

 

Yes, this is true. However, I guess he didnt tell you the reason they were cutting production. The market is WAY over supplied right now with HD bikes. There are tons of unsold bikes and a ton more for sale on the used market and will be like this for a while to come. He is being a salesman....they dont call them Stealerships for telling the truth.

 

I do know that the Kansas city plant is laying off all there employees for 1 week with out pay coming up real soon. But it is only for one week.

 

And its over supplied with other make bikes as well.......Down here where i live in florida you can still buy 2005 hondas still in their crates etc.......Lotsa bikes out there these days...Its amazing how many you see everyday....Arm gets sore from waving !
