RE: NEWBE--- OIL DRAIN PLUG LOCATION 883C
Assumming you have a 2004+ Sportster, the draintube is under the engine with a pinch-off clamp. Take the drain tube out of its holder and remove the clamp to drain the oil (a real class act). Before you refill it, remember to re-clamp it and put it back in its holder.
Primary oil can be checked per the manual through the primary cover. Be careful, those bolts strip easily. OR, if you're changing it, undo the dran plug (they did this one right), let it drain, replace the plug and put one quart back in through the primary chain inspection plate (more easily removed and replaced than primary cover).
