My 2008 XL1200N Nightster is no picnic either. In fact, I think it's far worse than the 2007 883 Low I had for a few months. I am getting REALLY bad aches in my left arm and I know it's from this clutch. I need to find a solution as well!

HD and aftermarket make 'easy clutch' kits that reduce the effort.Isstock on modelsstarting with '06...or '07....My wife hated the clutch on her '02 1200C, especially when stuck in stop and go traffic. When her bike was in the dealer for some service work I had them put the kit it.....End of complaints..... Actually I think it may have bought me another year or two before I have to get her a new bike....

"Concrete encased," great phrase choice to describe the clutch!

My 07 1200n, the clutch lever pull is like butter and one of the easiest clutches to pull I ever felt. My guess is the cable has worn though the teflon inner sleeve or the clutch springs are getting hard from age.

Nah, it has nothing to do with the cables. They have beenimproveing the clutch effort on the Sporty's since 04.

I have ridden other bikes and I prefer the clutch stiffness of my 2001....

Go to the gym and work on your forearmsjk

I have tendonitis and after purchasing my 2006 883L in June and putting on about 4500 km I couldn't even pull the clutch in after riding a couple of hundred km.I found this easy pull clutch through rearching this forum.Shipping was fast and it took exactly 20 minutes for my son to install and has been working like a charm. The directions that came with it are excellent and it is very inexpensive at $29.00.I would recommend this fix http://www.easypullclutch.com/index.html
