Default Nightster QD Sissy Bar, etc.

Installed the black QD sissy bar and luggage rack on THE MAMA's Nightster. Slapped on the QD Super Sport windshield, too. I think the bike looks like crap now, butit's her bike. Plus the stuff comes off in less than a minute.

The parts went on easily; in fact, I was impressed by the ease of installation. What I'm not impressed with is the way a simple bungee cord screws up the black on the rack & bar. One ride with a soft lunch box and the black finish is ruined. Oh well, live and learn.

To summarize: If you're gonna actually haul stuff on the bar & rack, get the chrome version. Or live with scuffed black paint.

If I can get through with some "honey-dos" tomorrow I'll take a few, with & without the attachments.

Still debating the forward controls, and haven't decided on her seat, either.

Sorry to bring life to an old thread- BUT THE SEARCH FEATURE WORKS!!!! Anyway, any pics of a Nightster with a black bitch bar? I'm thinking of doing it for looks/functionality and want to know if it looks good. I'm not to worried about scuffed paint- it's that or scuffed chrome.

Thanks man. Yeah, those are the quick detach side plates. The sissy bar is a Kuryakyn Raptor sissy bar. It only comes in chrome though, so i had it powdercoated to match along with the bars and front signal brackets. We have a local guy here that does a GREAT job on powdercoat and is really cheap. Only cost me $40 for all of it.

I'm trying to get the luggage rack on my wife's 08 Nightster. What is the nut size on the back of the front bolt? It's spinning and I'm having a heck of a time getting something to fit it.
