That's what I thought, but there wasn't a bit of this in the oil when it drained.

 

I guess next fluid change I am going to be doing it the hard way then. That is some scary lookin chit to be in a low mile bike.

 

I thought about through the inspection cover, but I already had the gasket and the footpeg isn't really that big of deal. If you remove one bolt and just loosen the second it pivots right out of the way. I will definitely be pullin the cover every time. I'm sure glad I did this time.
