Default Why the price jump on SE II Slip-ons 04-06??

Can anyone explain the justification for the $50+ increase in cost for SE II/Cycle Shack slip-ons for 04-06 Sportsters compared to the 03 and older? I'm finding pre-04 pairs for around $100 but $150 for 04-06 models. Is this all because of the rubber mounts?

One more question...what's the difference between SE and SE II?

SE mufflers are street legal. The SE Pro II mufflers are classified for racing only and not street legal.

My guess on the cost increase is the extra maching and welding on the mufflers required to connect to the interconnect pipe on the 2004 and up models.

I could be wrong but I think the newer bikes have the crossover tube down under the mufflers versus up over the side of the motor. Which would mean a more complicated manufacture=higher price

Everything is higher for the 04-06 Sportys. Like a chrome belt guard or sprocket cover being about 50% higher. My guess is the so-far weak aftermarket support for the latest generation Sportsters. That should change as time goes on.

Are SE II's louder than SE's? Is there a performance difference?

Yes, SE II's are louder than SE's. Some people have said that the SE's are no better than stock.
