I just keep thinking that if I keep pulling my foot up hard enough everyday, eventually I'll wear a 6th gear into my tranny.

Oh ok ... I actually get angry with myself when I search for sixth thinking " ..when the heck am I going to stop doing that man !!" When I was riding the woods and fields of Long Island as a kid, I dont remember doing this ... A street thing maybe ?

My 07 1200L doesn't have a tachometer, so I shift by the sound the engine is making. Sometimes doing over 50 I think I am in fourth and truth to shift up into fifth. I'm already in fifth. The sporty's need a 6th gear.

I used to do it quite a bit, but now thatI have a 6th gear I don't really need it except to save gas. Fifth gearfeels just fine. Figures

I usually do this when I'm running up Rt. 4 in Southern Maryland....there is a loooooong stretch of road that I usually do around 60 on and it doesn't seem to fail that I go looking for that 6th gear

I rented a '07 Softtail Heritage in Atlanta last year that did havea 6th gearand when I was on the highway, never went looking for it
