Over the years I've added a tach to various bikes I've owned for that very reason. I know alot of people think the Sportster needs a 6th gear but after I bought my 1200 I realized one of the things I "didn't" need was a tach. Obviously there's a large enough gap between 4th and 5th that I don't have a problem knowing when I'm in 5th.

I do it all the time, I'm glad to see everyone else does it too. If you didn't then you don't really ride the bike for what it's made for.

I'm always lookin for 6th gear on my bike and in my 5 spd tow truck. I'm sure i'll find it one of these days also.

Just bought a Nissan Murano with a CVT tranny. Now there is an idea, no gears. We'll she how it does over the long haul.

Tried finding it twice on the slab tonight... Once going up the on ramp at about 70ish and once passing a car at about 75ish...
Never found it. Still lookin'.

Dont matter what size it is you will always look for the pollock gear.
