Hell, I find myself trying to shift into a nonexistant 5th! ('88 sporty)

By the way, don't click this link http://images.ifun.ru/o/oMnmHmCLBh.jpg even though it is probably the most hilarious thing on the internet (bet you can't resist now, huh?)

Over the years I've added a tach to various bikes I've owned for that very reason. I know alot of people think the Sportster needs a 6th gear but after I bought my 1200 I realized one of the things I "didn't" need was a tach. Obviously there's a large enough gap between 4th and 5th that I don't have a problem knowing when I'm in 5th.

I do it all the time, I'm glad to see everyone else does it too. If you didn't then you don't really ride the bike for what it's made for.

Just bought a Nissan Murano with a CVT tranny. Now there is an idea, no gears. We'll she how it does over the long haul.

Dont matter what size it is you will always look for the pollock gear.

This, to me, is what is a deciding factor that you need a bigger bike..... I also, have been thinking
about it....
