broke my kick stand spring holder?... anyone else???
Well I was out teaching a friend to ride his new 1200C and doing some drills on a local highschool drivers traiing course. Well putting around a parking lot seems to get the engine rather warm and his only has 26 miles on it. We pull into a shaded grassy area to let them cool down a little. AS i go to pull a way the grass was a litle bumpy and i ran over a man hole cover.. yah bright me.
Anyways it busted off the little "****" under my bike frame that the kick sstand spring holds onto. luckily some zip ties held the stand up to get home.
What i dont get is the break is soo nice and clean.
Anyone else ever do this?? and how did you take care of it?
Im thinking just stop by the welding shop..
Thank ahead of time

i had that happen to me when i was loading it on a trailer.went to the autoparts store and got a universal throttle return spring.you know? has two springs a skinny one and a fat one. hooked it to the stand and then ran it all the way across and into the hole on the far side of the frame cross brace that runs right behind the stand.only thing is it becomes a automatic retracting stand after that.luckly they lock in the extended position when you put the bikes weight on them.
i only used the fat outer spring on mine but you might want to use both as it still let it hang down about 1/4 to 1/2 inch lower than stock.(never had it drag or hit though and ive scraped on corners often)dealers fixing it right for me while they fix the wreck damage.
