Default RE: I'm tempted to move to the darkside (Metric)

I too faced this issue regarding the vibration nummy thing. Then I rode a couple of soft tails. Loved that the handle bars didn't shake so hard that I could actual use the rear views at a stop light. My hands didn't go numb after 20 miles like they did on my bro's Road King.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting anyone's bike, I'm just sensitive to the vibration stuff. So, I rented a Heritage for a weekend (not cheap but well worth the test ride). I then rode a Fatboy a friend owns. I could have gone for either but found a sweet deal on an '06 Fatty with only 611 miles on it. The wife likes the ride and hours on it later, no numb buns.

Ride what feels good to you, but spend the time (and money if needed) to test a few first. One last thing, I rode a silverado several weekends too. I loved that it wasn't as hot as the HDs (my sole complaint of my Fatty) but I was always down shifting when I needed more torque and always looking for another top gear when on the expressway.

Good Luck.

When the problem is the wife and not the bike, then the solution is simple. You just have to trade in your wife for a younger one. They won't complain about vibrations or numbness.

Yup...nothing better then trading a 50 year old for two 25 years olds.
