Default Make of Air Filter

I recently bought a set of V&H straightshot mufflers and K&N filter for my 2008 XL1200C Sportster which had stock mufflers and filter cover. Fitted the mufflers ok, but when I took off the filter cover found the filter is not stock. It is the same shape, but instead of having the metal plate and three bolt fixings, this one has no plate and four fixings, two toward the top and two toward the bottom. Top two are spaced closer together than the lower two. No markings other than a number stamped on, 29044-04B-107. Had a look online and I think a previous owner may have fitted a Screamin Eagle kit, but not sure. Suspect they had aftermarket slip ons too but took them off and replaced with stock when they sold the bike, as the mufflers came off easy. I can`t find a filter with those numbers, so wonder if still available. I will probably just clean and put it back on as I assume it is a high flow filter, but again don`t know for sure. Don`t know how long it has been on so would feel happier replacing. I think K&N do another filter with the same fitting points to replace Screamin Eagle filters. Just wondered if anyone can advise ?. I asked the same question on another forum but without much luck.

A photo or two would be helpful to us, we are trying to see in the dark without at least one image.

Pictures of any part numbers would help too.

Thanks guys, after a bit more Googling I have identified it. It is a Screamin Eagle kit that has (I assume) a high flow filter and has an adaptor so the stock air filter cover can be used. Comes with a trim plate with "Screamin Eagle " on it to replace the stock one with "1200" on it, but looks like the previous owner re-fitted the stock trim !. Found a few filters on line with the same 4 fitting holes and number 29044-04B, but instead of -107 following on mine, last three digits differ, one ended with 500 if I remember right so a bit confused by that. Guess maybe those are for kits fitted to bigger bikes than the Sporty ?. Anyway, I will take a couple of piccies and post up when I get the chance.

I was looking at a K&N filter and in their instructions you have to take the metal part from the front of the HD filter and use it.

4 fixings is possibly the high flow filter:-

Thanks guys, yeah, I should have posted some pics sorry !. Anyway, after more surfing the net I have found it. Looks like a PO fitted a Screamin Eagle air filter kit. The kit has a (I guess) high flow filter but uses the stock filter cover for which there is an adaptor. It has a trim piece with the SE logo on it to replace the stock trim with 1200 on. The PO re-fitted the stock trim, hence me thinking it was a stock set up and ordering the K&N. Also found a few SE filters online of same shape and same serial no 29044-04B, but instead of ending with 107 like mine the last three digits varied, one was 500. Guess maybe for different/bigger models of bike. I will still try to post some pics. Not sure if I have posted this twice, sorry if so, computer crashed as I hit post reply so re-posting !.

Thanks Andy, yeah that is what threw me when I received the K&N and went to fit it, as the metal part has 3 fixing points and was`nt there.
