Default Fuel Pak or Power Commander

I have 07 1200. Installed V & H Slip On's, going to finish stage 1 upgrade. Fuel Pak or Power Commander or should I let the dealer handle the Download for $450.00. What exactly is the difference between Fuel Pak and Power Commander??

Any Advice??

I just did the Fuelpak this morning. It ain't for the faint of heart getting it fitted on the bike.....but once it's on it makes a world of difference. If you're not looking to make any mods to the engine over the forseeable future, the Fuelpak is a good option because programming it is child's play.

I've got the PCIII and its been decent so far. I'm still waiting for my SE A/C to arrive so I can mount it and have the exact map for my setup. Im running V&H short shots right now and I have the map for my pics and the A/C so its running a bit rich. The only thing I could say bad about it so far is that it seems to decrease throttle response. My dad put a PC on one of his Fat Boys and he said the same thing about it. Im going to save my final judgement until I'm running the exact setup for the map I'm running, though. As far as ease of installment.....I couldn't ask for anything more simple. The ONLY bad thing I could say is that I had a tad of trouble getting my seat post to hook back in because of the wiring harness sitting on top of the battery box. But......it really wasn't a huge deal.

Interesting that it decreased throttle response...that seems to be the opposite of what it's supposed to do.. well the Fuelpak anyway. I have majorly improved throttle response with the Fuelpak.

MJStephens I also noticed a small decrease in throttle response just off idle. Not anything big but still it's there.
I saw that they have a utility called Accelerator Pump free for download. It is supposed to increase throttle response when cracking the throttle open fast.
I didn't try using it on mine yet asI don't have a laptop and unhooking it from the bike and taking it in the house is a pain with the way the wires were routed. The only laptop I have available to me is from the guy down the street that I know and I hate to bother him about using it again. Maybe this next weekend...
Anyways here is an article about it
http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...t_ap_parts.pdf

And here is where you can download it
http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...downloads.aspx

If you try it out let us know how it worked.

Ill give that accelerator pump a try this week. I'm going to wait until I have my SE A/C on it so I know the map is for my exact setup. Like you said, though, its not anything horrible. For me it just seems like when I'm shifting gears and then getting back in the throttle there is the slightest "hiccup" or something.

I like my PC III, it was easy to get rid of the popping on deceleration. Smokeygold try that accelerator pump program that is what it is meant for from the sound of it.
