I think it would be fun to drag my sporty every once in awhile.

Maybe I should once...or twice.

Are the rubber mount Sporsters really faster than the solid mount Evo Sportsters? I'd find that hard to believe....rubber mounts are heavier.

Rubber adds comfort, not performance... Harley claims they "re-tuned" the engine... who knows, but my guess is that if you care about speed, you probably arn't using the stock A/C, pipes, e&, so you've had it retuned anyway

That's what I thought. There can't be any significant horsepower difference and the new bikes are definitely heavier.

Not by much. Pretty much the acceleration is almost equal (very small difference). The rubbermounts are heavier, but they also produce more power than the solidmounts.

If that's your goal - drag racing, I mean - go drop $4k on a '99-'04 R-1 and do 9.5s all day long. You're taking a spoon to a gun fight.

$.02
most part time drag racers dont do it to have the fastest bike or car ever.......they do it to see what THEIR bike can do. its all in fun man
