High rmp's on starting
Hey gang. Just had a bit of a moment on my 2022 Iron. Cranked her up to run up and put some gas in the tank. Pulled out of my driveway and thought I must've been in 2nd gear as she took off a tad faster than usual. Then I realized the engine was revving high. Whenever I would pull the clutch in it would rev up. I had to ride the brakes around corners to get back home safely. Shut it off for a minute and cranked it back up and it seemed fine. RPM's were at 1250'ish at idle. Funny thing is it sounded "normal" the first time I started it up until I started moving.
Should I wait a minute or two after starting before going? Is it an automatic choke or something? I rode about a mile and it never let up until after I shut it off. I've only had the bike 6 weeks and it never did that before. If it matters it'd been 2 weeks since I started it. And I live in north Florida and the humidity lately has been awful. Could that have something to do with it? Sitting in my garage for 2 weeks baking like in an oven?
Thanks in advance.

Most likely the Idle Air Controller. They can be temperamental, best to just let it idle till it settles down. Almost all EFI vehicles I have owned have some idiosyncrasies with the IAC, not surprised bikes do too. The IAC handles start up idle, as you do not use throttle to start EFI bikes. If you are opening the throttle, you should not. Just let the IAC handle starting.
You can always connect and disconnect the wires to it if you still have issues, see if that fixes it. Or, it's easily replaceable AFAIK. Good luck!

Just occasionally my bike has something of a higher idle than expected. The system does sort itself out and runs correctly very quickly.
There is no choke there is a table of data of how much extra petrol to inject based on engine temperature.
There is also a table of data with idle rpm based on engine temperature.
I find I can be riding in a few seconds after starting the engine but it is noticeable the engine is cold.
