entertainment center on sportster
I was riding with a couple of guys yesterday who had radio's on their bikes. Cruisers, baggers. I thought it would be nice to be able to listen to some tunes while I was also riding. Is there a product out there that would allow me to do this or, do I have to put on ear plugs with an I pod or something like that? Has anyone jury rigged something and would like to share it with me/ us?

Unlike the larger baggers, there's little space on a Sportie for mounting a receiver and speakers, and hiding the associated wiring. IMO the best way to go would be an MP3/IPod player with noise cancelling ear buds. I prefer the sweet music that comes from my pipes.

Bigtop-
I do not think I would be able to embrace the idea of wearing earplugs(earphones) on a scoot. For obvious safety reasons. He!!, that is one of the reasons I wear a 1/2lid so I can hear.
I do have a buddy that did a small amp, with and iPod, and lil'speakers that are in a billet style housing. He loves them!
Best of luck in your search. Tunes would be nice on long superslab rides...

I have a set of speakers, 100w amp and a ipod. it makes for a nice set up. the speakers quick mount to my handle bars, and it plenty loud enough to hear all the way up to 60-70 mph. I would not advise wearing earphones while driving. Here is a link to the speakers

I am sure HD does, but you can get those speakers for ~$20 and a 100w amp for ~$50 most pople have an ipod, and if not, you do not need the ipod brand, any mp3 player will work you can get the whole thing for~$150 and we all know that if HD does have something it will not be close to 150

Take a look at Uniq Cycle Sounds. They have an ad somewhere here. We installed the speakers on the handlebars next to the switch housings. Hid the amp under the fuse cover, which you should be able to do with the sporty. Ran the wiring along the frame and neck with zip ties. Great system.

Thanks to all for the input. So! It can be done. I'm going to go into this further. I want something light and practical along with being able to hear as I cruise along on the road. I'll bet if I go over to Car Tunes or one of those specialty radio/electronic stores they could hook me up. I'm finding that the bigger bikes have some luxury items that are appealing to me like their sound system. Not necessarily what I had in mind when I bought the bike but, realizing now that this is the best bike for me, want wise and, other wise and, with no plans to want to get rid of it, I feel that a few items would make it an even better bike for me to enjoy. Thanks all.
