Default cycle shack

It seems a lotta folks here are running them, where is a good place to buy them, and which ones is it that most use? tapered, 1 3/4" 2" I've seen where somebody on here got them for as little as 126.00 from Jireh cycle but Ican't seem to find my way around on that site. Thanks guys, Stafford

[sm=biker.gif][sm=biker.gif] I got the Cycle Shack Drag Pipes on my 883 C..very loud and very proud.I got the 2' ones..they sound a bit deeper in tone than the smaller ones.My only bitch was that from the factory they did'nt have holes in them to add baffles.I corrected that oversite with a drill and bit..then added some home-made butterflies (that are adjustable) to boost the low end torque that was missing without losing the sound. It worked out well.Does that answer your question??>>>David

If you get the cycle shack slip on mufflers you won't hafta to deal with baffles to regain the back pressure. I have the tapper mufflers, just because I wanted to retain the stock look. For pure sound, I would probably go with the slash cut mufflers.

This is the best place I have seen to buy cycle shacks.

www.jirehcycles.com

I think they have increased the price to $125 including freight.

Their website is a bit difficult to get around on, but they're a great place to do business.

For the 04 and later Sportster these are the part numbers

64-297 Tapered
64-298 Baloney Slice
64-299 Turn out

Maybe you can work some magic with different baffles but generally speaking you want 1 3/4" for engines under 100 ci. The 2" are for those larger displacement engines with more compression.

Putting the 2" on smaller engines will rob you of power because of the lack of back pressure. It's like the difference between you exhaling as hard as you can through a paper towel roll versus a McDonald's straw. That's an exaggeration but the analogy is sound.

I second the vote for Jireh's. Best price I have seen unless you catch a great deal on Ebay.

SE's sound better to my ears. They have a deeper sound which I prefer. Getting rid of my shacks sooner or later...

New SE's are getting alot harder to come by these days..

I agree the SE mufflers do have a deeper sound. Very nice!!! I also agree, they are difficult to find.
