Default Purchase checklist for a used Iron 883?

Hi,

I'm about to purchase an Iron 883 with 500 miles, manufactured in 2020. The owner hasn't used it much, and the motorcycle looks like brand new.

Could you recommend any checklist? It is my first time buying a Harley Davidson.

Thank you very much!

Congrat's...

Check Cycle Trader for price ranges before you leap...

Tires should be OK for another couple of years. Plan to replace all the fluids and likely the battery (buy a battery tender regardless). Start planning your upgrades. Ride...repeat...enjoy...

Make sure it runs. It's been sitting for years. Fuel gels up.

I’d check inside the gas tank for rust. It’s going to need a battery if not now then soon.

If the oil looks low but still in view don't ad any till after it has been ran. Oil tends to leak down into the engine crankcase when they sit for long periods.

Here is an overall checklist for buying a used bike. Take what you want from it, some points will apply, some will not. Happy reading and learning.

Congrats. The bike is only 4 years old. I doubt you'll have any issues. Have fun and ride safe.
