Default exhaust port gaskets

have any of you had problems inserting exhaust port gaskets? I have either been given the wrong ones, or I'm not as mechanically inclined as I thought (or both).

Im sure you didnt get the wrong ones. they are a little tough to get in. get a pik to help kinda shove it in. even if it seperates a little it will crush back down when you put the exhaust back on. hope this helps

Your dealer purchases those gaskets by the bag-full, that's why they're not in their own bag. Give 'em a coating of anti-sieze compound before putting them in. For most applications, the standard gaskets do a great job. The Screaming Eagle gaskets do work better for some pipes. It's all in the shape of the pipe. If you're using the stock head pipes, the standard gaskets should be fine. They'll push in there.

Yes, I was able to get that out without any problems. Thx all, I'll try it again sometime this week - as soon as I can go get another one!

Thx again. I live too far from the stealership and it's hard to take the time during work to drive out and get new ones.

Plus, I've been shaking too much from not being able to ride for the past few days, I decided to tryit again with the parts that I had. If anything (leak, etc.), I would just take it back apart... no problem.

So I looked at the first gasket that I just knew that I ruined, but it turns out that it wasn't as bad as I thought. After placing it back in the header, I made sure it was flush all around and it looked like it was sealing just fine. After starting her up this morning, it would appear everything is ok.

I was just able to play around with the forward controls to see how they feel compared to mids.... I love them already!

Now I'm wondering about the QUALITY of the forward controls that I bought. There are a couple of things that I don't like about them, that I didn't notice after purchasing on Ebay.

Oh well, live and learn. With any luck, I'll be cruising with my new forwards later this evening!
