Being in the automotive industry, I'm with Zimbob. Brake cleaner getts rid of all the oil quick!

I use Super Clean (purple spray bottle)on the tough dirt.Make sure to follow the directions.Don't use a preasure washer it will distroy sealed bearings.
Are you sure....???

Been pressure washing mine for two years...

Just put a new front end on it including a new axle shaft...

When I tore it down... there was no indication of any water intrusion at all...

Go figure...

I can attest to a pressure washer getting past seals...........A couple of years ago, I got the bright idea to pressure wash the loose paint off of one wheel on my boat trailer. I figured it was sealed well since it had Bearing Buddies on the hub and Bearing Buddy Bras on the Buddy.....Wrong..........Next trip out, I went less than 20 miles before the bearing blew out. When I pulled the hub, all of the grease was gone. All of the grease being gone wasn't from lack of greasing either. I usually grease them every other trip or so.

I hear ya'....

But using a pressure washer as a paint removing tool and using it as a washer, to me anyway, is two different animals...

I guess each person has to go off their own experience... mine is that, it don't hurt a thing... of course a little common sense goes a long way...

You are right that a little common sense goes a long way. However, it's sometimes a little easy to get carried away blasting things off and thinking you are doing good. Just ask my buddy that was using his pressure washer to zap the bugs off of his new bike's fairing. He ended up stripping the clear coat off.

BTW, in my case I wash spraying directly on the hub or bearingprotector. I was zapping the wheels. The water still found it's way in.
