2016 Sportster 48 - High Idle During Startup
Hey All!
I have a 2016 Sportster 48 that I recently put V&H Short Shots, an Arlen Ness Mini 22, and the Fuelpak Fp3 Tuner on. It has been running great. I tried cleaning the IAC/air intake manifold out with CRC throttle body cleaner but still getting a high idle.
Here's a video of what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/N8Js99xzeds - video is also attached to this thread!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you!

It is perfectly normal for an EFI Sportster to have a fast tick over when starting from cold, my Iron 883 starts up from cold at 2000 rpm, as the motor warms up the revs gradually drop down to a regular tick over of 1000 rpm after about three minutes run time.
I installed an H-D analogue tachometer to my Iron in 2012 because I like to keep an eye on how high my motor is revving.

Yes, It just depends on how cold it is when started.
In the EFI system is a table with details of how much to increase revs depending on temperature. If you wanted you can play with the values to reduce engine speed but it might cause stalling or poor starting.
So long, as stated, the idle settles to 1,000 when warmed up your engine is running correctly.
