A little bit. I didn't want chrome and all black seemed too much black, so these were a nice visual alternative as well as functional.

I was going to mention this that companies that make a 12" and 12.5" shock may just make the longer shock longer without increasing spring travel.

You have to check the spec carefully.

This is similar to what I have, but was redone by a forum sponsor, who is no longer with us. He matched the springs to me and my riding style and did a revalve.

Ohlins 12" shocks on my King. A buddy has a similar on on his Sporty Custom.

Mine are adjusted softer than what the factory recommends but the 2016's had more adjustment.

And being 110lbs heavier than me those shocks would be so hard to be terrible for me.

It is so important to not just take "standard" springs but get the correct spring rate for your riding weight.

Unfortunately though if the damping is wrong or cannot be adjusted even the best springs in the world won't work.

Only thing I adjusted is the up 2 clicks oi the rear and its plenty stiff enough for me. Never had a dive or bottom out the front ever. I think the mistake alotta people make is thinking a 883/1200 is a CBR or R1.

I had the same problem with mine so I switched to Ohlins 13.5" The asked a lots of question so it would be setup for me when delivered. They did call to verify setup before shipping. Really nice.people.
