Default Would baffles make a difference?

Si I had my 2009 883C stock and put an FP3 tuner on it, ran beautifully, put Cobra 909 Speedster exhaust and a SE Stage 1 air cleaner on and retuned with those items. Now it idles like it's cammed, ( which sounds really cool, but I know it's not supposed to.) Also runs really choppy. If I'm accelerating it seems smooth, but if maintaining a steady speed, it seems like it's missing or something. I have a message in with Vance and Hines, but I'm not so sure the tune is the problem. Double checked the air cleaner to make sure no leaks, plugs are brand new and gapped properly. I'm wondering if the baffles in the pipes are causing a problem? There isn't really anything crazy going on and it's a simple stage 1, no engine work. I'm stumped. Any ides?

Is the exhaust on the list or did you have to select something you think is similar?

I can only think if not specific map those pipes have some weird tune requirements.

it wasn't "exact", they had Cobra Speedster shorts, std baffle, high flow air cleaner. Not 909's, but should be the same. I never had problems with a stage 1 before, they are usually a no brainer, that's why I thought it might be mechanical, but I checked everything I installed and it should be fine, no leaks. That's why I was thinking baffles, maybe too much back pressure? Never heard of that with just pipes and an air cleaner, but who knows.

I'd start with getting rid of that tuner and exhaust.

The Fp3 is OK for stage 1/ exhaust and intake tuning but seems most people have to go back and forth with V&H making adjustments and running auto tune sessions many times to get a decent tune. Also the Fp3 is known to have poor tuning/ fuel control if you ever do anything more like cams. And those short pipes aren't doing you any favors in the sound and performance department IMO.

I have the pv3 on my road king and it works great. Were you having similar issues before you switched to the Power vision? If the tuner is the only problem, I have no issues switching to a PV.

In the scheme of things both tuners write to the same ECM places. If V&H have done a dyno tune on a setup then their map ought to work. There is plenty of satisfied customers who don't even bother with autotune but their bikes run fine.

If Dynojet haven't dyno run a setup then it is likely similar results will be exhibited, IMO.

Might give Fuelmoto USA a call. They sell the tuners, and they can probably send you the mapping for your exact setup.

Just email V&H...they'll set you up with a custom tune. No need to spend hundreds replacing your FP3...

for now, yea, I already have an email to them. My winter project for the bike is a Hammer 1250 kit, so it's going to need a new tuner anyway
