I bought a brand new 2022 Nightster about a month ago and have been straight up loving it! I did some mods to it myself and now it’s throwing a couple codes. I bought the bike with 13 miles on it and now I’m up to about 500.
I did a tail light relocation kit, passenger pillion, passenger foot pegs and detachable saddlebags. Im pretty confident in my soldering abilities but it’s the only reason I can come up with as to why my brand new bike is throwing codes. I didn’t do what the instructions said to do and tear apart the tail lights and run a completely new wire harness to each of them and the license plate brake light. I just soldered in 5” of extra wire (wire provided in the kit) to each of the wires and replugged everything in. Everything works great, to be honest I was pretty damn proud of myself.
Maybe error codes are more common than I would expect them to be, but it seems wrong to have to keep resetting them multiple times a day. It only starting giving me issues today. I did the relocation wiring about a week ago.
The codes it’s throwing are u04576, u014000, and then it’s saying part number 70900971. I’ve tried looking them all up online and I can’t find ANYTHING. Also, the dealership forgot to give me my owners manual (kinda my fault too for not noticing but I was just so stoked to get my first bike).
I didn’t notice a Nightster forum so I assumed since sportsters are pretty much the more badass version of my bike, maybe someone can help a brother out.
