they are from Larry's. I talked with Larry he is going to send a replacement. I tried compressed air to get it to pop up so I could get it apart and check for dirt or a broken spring spot it is stuck. I Larry doesn't want this one back I will get it apart by whatever means necessary to see where it failed.

Interesting. I have heard good things about Larry's but I guess there is always the possibility a part may not be 100% no matter where it come from. I went with S&S for all the internals when I did mine. The pushrods were from hammer performance though as I wanted shorter solid pushrods. Adjustable pushrods just seemed like such a pita.

yeah this bike is basically stock factory i piece pushrods and covers, cams etc. His seemed to have the combo of best reviews, price and stock fitment. If 1 in a million were defective, then ill get it. Just my luck. I find it odd that out of the 4 it was the one i put in the problematic valve from before rebuild.

That is true. I am sure it is just a coincidence.

Hmm, so you tore apart because you had a bent pushrod on the REAR INTAKE. You replace all the Pushrods & Lifters. One New Lifter fails on the REAR INTAKE ... Weird

Did I read that right?

yeah thats right. Seems strange to me too. Oil passages all seem clear, it was getting oil to the rockers after rebuild. ive replaced everything in the valve train, except the rockers which the machine shop cleared for service, so i have to believe its just weird luck.

Update......

So I received the replacement lifter and got it installed. Ive got the bottom plates of the rocker assembly installed, and I've noticed something weird still. All three other valves when on the lowest point of the cams allow me to rotate the pushrods, but there is no movement of the rocker shafts if I try to to rock them by hand. However, on the valve that's been the issue I can rock it back and forth almost 3/16-1/4". Now it's not totally loose, I can feel a bit if resistance from the lifter but I don't think it right.

I'm starting to wonder if that rocker got damaged when the pushrod bent in the first place. Maybe something the machine shop missed. Maybe just wore out the surfaces too much. I have no idea how long the previous owner ran it like that, he said he had no clue it was bent. I wish i had check/noticed if it was this way the first time i assembled it. Any thoughts? I don't think it's just a needs to pump up thing either, I soaked it in oil overnight and hand pumped it a bit before I installed it.
