Bought the bike knowing there was a pinch in the wiring harness possibly... The guy before me had some of the harness hanging down under the frame on the bottom of the bike parallels with the seat, and went to put a jack under it and smashed the wire up( I have yet to take a look at it yet as it is covered in electrical tape and looks like a retarded mess). but he told me that he had no issues prior to that incident.
The lights work and blinkers all work and the tach works as normal in accessory, if I turn the key to on but not fully to the right it all still works and the bike actually starts and runs normal. But if i turn the key full right into the final position where it should be the blinkers/tach turn off (headlight and taillight remain "running"). curious if there is any advice as to whether it would be wrong to just splice the connections together bypassing connectors or if that is a poor idea with the harness. and/ or could it be something else and the wiring harness is just adding to the fire. Thanks and can include pictures for help if needed.

I would try and get it back together working as it originally was first before I'd mess with bypassing or removing anything. At least then you know for sure what you're dealing with otherwise it's really easy to go down a rabbit hole. Sound like it may not be too bad if you have everything working with the key in the ACC position. I would just work down from the ignition switch and see what you find.
