883, does it have the Harley sound?

RE: 883, does it have the Harley sound?
They all have a distinct sound. An Evo doesn't sound like a Shovelhead. I think the Evo has lighter wheels so it won't idle as low as a Shovel or Pan. But, they all sound similar and an 883 sounds like a Sportster, even an Iron head. The cam gears have a distinct whine that you can pick up if you get used to hearing the diferences and the note is slightly different.

Why thanks there cHarley. I'm assuming my bike is the only 883 with cycle shacks you've heard (of course we all know what happens when you "assume"). The cycle shacks are a good "BANG" for the buck. They look decent, and sound pretty good, plus they're an easy install.

I think they've increased the price up from $119 when I got mine to $125...and that includes freight charges.

someone mentioned they put the cycle shacks on an '07 883. did you adjust the EFI stuff yourself? i was under the impression that if i changed the exhaust at all, that there is a lot more to it then just switching the pipes.

With the carb bikes you can just add pipes, and not need to change anything with the carb, until you change the air cleaner. And I'm beginning to think, that's the same with the EFI bikes.....No expert here, just my observations.
